Notification of Right to Request Teacher Qualifications

Dear Parent or Guardian:

The educators in [district] are committed to providing a quality instructional program for your child.  This letter is just one of the ways of keeping you informed of the educational commitment of our schools and our district.

 Our district receives federal funds for Title I, Part A programs as a part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).  Under ESSA, you have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of your child’s teacher(s).  If you request this information, the district will provide you with the following:

 

1. Whether the teacher has met the state requirements for licensure and certification for the grade levels and subject matters in which the teacher provides instruction;
2. Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification or licensing criteria have been waived;
3. The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, and the field of discipline of the certification or degree; and
4. Whether your child is provided services by paraeducators, and if so, their qualifications.

Notificación de Derecho a Solicitar Calificaciones de Maestros

Querido Padre/Tutor:

Los educadores del Distrito de Mayfield están comprometidos a brindar un programa de instrucción de calidad para su hijo. Esta carta es sólo una de las formas de mantenerlo informado sobre el compromiso educativo de nuestras escuelas y nuestro distrito.

 Nuestro distrito recibe fondos federales para programas del Título I, programas Parte A como parte de la Ley Cada Estudiante Triunfa (ESSA). Según ESSA, usted tiene derecho a solicitar información sobre las calificaciones profesionales de los maestros de su hijo. Si solicita esta información, el distrito le proporcionará lo siguiente:

1. Si el maestro ha cumplido con los requisitos estatales de licencia y certificación para los niveles de grado y materias en las que el maestro brinda instrucción;
2. Si el maestro está enseñando bajo emergencia u otro estado provisional a través del cual se han renunciado a los criterios de calificación o licencia estatal;
3. El título de bachillerato de especialidad del maestro y cualquier otra certificación o título de posgrado que posea el maestro, y el campo de disciplina de la certificación o título; y
4. Si su hijo recibe servicios de para educadores y, de ser así, sus calificaciones.
